ARA’s community development team supports new and emerging community organisations to increase their skills, knowledge and capacity whilst enabling them to assist their communities to settle successfully in Australia.

ARA provides culturally sensitive one-to-one training sessions for leadership teams to build their capacity to respond to and support their community members. A holistic approach to collaboratively working with community leaders leads to long-term, sustainable and community-led organisations.
The Settlement Action Network (SAN) meets quarterly to identify issues and address any needs that are apparent amongst people from a refugee background as they settle into Australian society. ARA convenes these meetings which are open to agency staff, community leaders and any individual interested in the welfare of new arrivals. As the need arises, working parties are formed to address issues in more detail and provide the opportunity for organisations to respond collaboratively.
